To determine the presence of benign or malign cells in body, to diagnose and plan the most effective method of treatment, specialists may indicate several specific examinations before the treatment decision is made.

Most often examinations are:

  • Computed tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic resonanse (MR)
  • Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT)

PET/CT innovative technology is the most precise diagnostic method in detecting oncological diseases. The method combines positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT). It helps to diagnose disease at very early stage of cancer, generally before any anatomic changes are visible on ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, or CT scan.

PET/CT method helps to:

  • Locate the site of the cancer, to determine the size of the tumour, effectively pinpoint the source of cancer, differentiate benign from malignant growths, discover whether the cancer has spread, select treatments that are likely to be appropriate, monitor the success of therapy, detect any recurrent tumours, select an appropriate site for biopsy.

PET/CT diagnostic method is available with physicians referral.
